U.S. Restaurant Usage
One Of The Most Important Retail Categories
A 75-Minute Webinar from the Food Institute, featuring Scarborough Research

In the typical 30-day period, fully 96% of American adults eat at a restaurant at least once, according to the Scarborough Restaurant Report.

Within a given local market, the mix of available retail brands has tremendous influence on the actual shopping behaviors of persons in that market. Restaurant usage is one of the most important retail categories given the percentage of people that dine out in a given month. But in drilling down, it quickly becomes apparent that the ways in which Americans use restaurants varies greatly across different U.S. cities.

This webinar, based on the findings of the Scarborough Restaurant Report, looked at restaurant patronage from a consumer demographic perspective. In the report, Scarborough measures consumer usage of both quick service restaurants (QSRs) and sit-down restaurants.
Webinar participants gained valuable insight on consumer dining-out behaviors including:

  • Who is the heavy QSR diner?
  • Who is the heavy casual sit-down diner?
  • What is the profile of consumers who are heavy users of both restaurant types?
  • Why is the heavy user so important?
  • What geographic patterns emerge? and more.............
