In the typical 30-day period, fully 96% of American adults
eat at a restaurant at least once, according to the Scarborough
Restaurant Report.
Within
a given local market, the mix of available retail brands has tremendous
influence on the actual shopping behaviors of persons in that market.
Restaurant usage is one of the most important retail categories
given the percentage of people that dine out in a given month. But
in drilling down, it quickly becomes apparent that the ways in which
Americans use restaurants varies greatly across different U.S. cities.
