PANACHE INTRODUCES RARE NEW COFFEE
FROM
UGANDA
(Portland,
Oregon) – Specialty coffee roaster Coffee Bean International (CBI) has
discovered its newest Panache® Limited Edition Coffee - the smooth
and rich Uganda Mbale AA - growing in the remote mountains of
equatorial Africa. Now available to specialty coffee retailers nationwide, this
new coffee has rarely been seen outside of Europe. Uganda Mbale AA is only the
third African single-origin coffee CBI has discovered that meets its strict
Limited Edition criteria.
A beautiful coffee to watch come alive during roasting, Uganda Mbale AA beans are bold and even, developing a deep mahogany color coated with a thin, glistening layer of oil, and highlighted by a brilliant chaff line. When brewed, this new Limited Edition coffee produces a delicious cup reminiscent of a fine Kenyan AA, but tempered with the moderate body and depth of a New Guinea.
Steep volcanic slopes overlooking the town of Mbale - barely 1° north of the equator, but at 4,000 feet in elevation blessed with a moderate climate - produce some of the finest coffees in Africa. This new coffee has been carefully hand-sorted and sized to pass the rigorous “AA” standard - the strictest Arabica grade in the region, and only awarded to a small portion of each year’s harvest processed at the Bugishu Cooperative Union mill.
