Food inflation is making a comeback, at levels that have not been seen in over thirty five years, and is being driven by rising commodity prices. At the same time, the U.S. employment situation remains slow to improve. Big questions that affect food retailing have yet to be answered, such as:

  • How big will increases be?
  • How long will inflation last?
  • How will national brand manufacturers respond to cost increases? Can they pass them along to retailers?
  • How will food retailers react? Can they pass along national price increases? Will they redouble their investment in Private Label to ensure they maintain value shoppers' loyalty?
  • What are the implications of this latest round of food inflation for trading partner collaboration?
  • How will this affect shopper buying habits?
  • What impact will this have on retailer's pricing/promotion strategies?

Join Jim Hertel, Managing Partner, and Craig Rosenblum, Partner, both of Willard Bishop, and moderator Michael Sansolo, as they provide their unique and unparalleled insights into the Future of Food Retailing in a this one-hour webinar. They will dig into retailer strategies, identify specific actions that Walmart and others are taking, and point out intended and unintended consequences of retailers' actions. They will also point out winners and losers in the consumer spending turnaround and the effect this has had on the larger food retailers.
