national recall of eggs from Iowa is providing California egg farmers with an
opportunity to expand business. Last year, California
had just 19 million egg-laying hens, making it the sixth-largest producer in the
nation, compared to 41 million egg-laying hens in 1971. Arnie Riebli, a fourth-generation
egg producer in Sonoma County, expects about a 5% to 10% increase in sales because
